Still Hope

This morning I went to have my blood work taken.

I waited until 8:00 as I was hoping to miss all the people who were having to fast. My strategy worked as I didn't have to wait long.

I asked the lady who took my blood how long it would take for the results to come in and she told me that it depended on the test being taken. She went on to say that it would probably be tomorrow.

When I got home I called the Regional Fertility Clinic to let them know that I went in to have my blood work taken. I also pleaded that if there was any way to get the results of my blood work today that they please call me as soon as possible.

Around 12:00 I got the phone call from the Regional Fertility Clinic. When I saw their number I hesitated for a second because I didn't know whether I wanted to know or not.

Thankfully the news was good... kind of.

My HSG levels have risen!

They are now at 268. (Typically at 4 1/2 weeks they are between 270-1100.)

As they are still a little low, they are sending me for blood work again Friday. Depending on the results we will hopefully know more. The nurse mentioned that they may also send me for an early ultrasound to make sure that it isn't an ectopic pregnancy.

"Ectopic pregnancy, also known as eccyesis or tubal pregnancy, is a complication of pregnancy in which the embryo attaches outside the uterus. Signs and symptoms classically include abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding." - Wikipedia

I am hoping and praying that they are just slow to raise and that this is still a viable pregnancy.

So yet again I am asking for your prayers... they worked last time!

  1. Hi Lori. I am lying in bed recovering from my first egg retrieval procedure today. I am 42 and going through my 2nd IVF cycle (first was downgraded to an IUI because I only had one follicle). They managed to collect 5 eggs and I'll know tomorrow how many fertilized. Like you, I spend hours on the internet, reading message boards and blogs. It really comforts me to hear how other women are handling the stress of this. Also like you, I am older than my boyfriend and I feel guilty sometimes, knowing that my age is the reason for our difficulty. We almost had to cancel this cycle due to slow growth, but I took the meds for a full 15 days and managed to get the 5 follies. On the day we thought we had to cancel, I did a ton of research about using DE's, and discussed it with my BF. He is on board as that being our next step, so I was very interested in hearing about your experience. I live in the States, so some specific medical procedures may be different. Even so I felt like I could relate to your personal story so well and I read all of your blog posts from day one while in bed today. :) I am praying and sending baby dust your way that your levels keep rising and your dream of a child comes true. You and your husband have been through so much and you deserve this fairy tale ending!

    1. Hi Teri, Thank you so much for your kind words. I have my fingers crossed that your eggs will fertilize and that you and your boyfriend have a beautiful baby! (If you are comfortable sharing I would love to hear how everything goes.)
I am happy to know that my blog has provided you with some comfort. Although this is not a journey I'd wish on anyone, it is reassuring to know that you are not alone. If you ever have any questions or want to share your experiences I'd be happy to listen.
Thank you for your prayers and baby dust... I'm sending mine to you as well.

    2. Hi Lori. I'm so happy to hear that your levels are rising. I say a little prayer for you each night that this is going to be successful for you. Out of my 5 eggs, three fertilized, and all three were implanted today. My beta blood test is scheduled to be on 4/29. Oh the dreaded TWW! Here's hoping we both have good news when it is all said and done. :)

  2. I'm really wondering how there would even be a possibility of ectopic if they implant directly into the uterus? Not that I know much about these things I guess. I love you and am praying. I remember having to go back cause my levels were low with Reid too but not sure what they were now-wish I had wrote them down.

    1. Hi Candace,

To be honest, I had no idea and it didn't make sense to me either. I did some research and am writing the next post about it.

  3. Your car could be stolen if you don't keep this in mind!

Consider that your car was taken! When you visit the police, they inquire about a specific "VIN check"

    A VIN decoder is what?

Similar to a passport, the "VIN decoder" allows you to find out the date of the car's birth and the identity of its "parent"( manufacturing plant). You can also figure out:

    1.Type of engine

    2.Automobile model

    3.The DMV's limitations

4.The number of drivers in this vehicle

The location of the car will be visible to you, and keeping in mind the code ensures your safety. The code can be checked in the database online. The VIN is situated on various parts of the car to make it harder for thieves to steal, such as the first person seated on the floor, the frame (often in trucks and SUVs), the spar, and other areas.

What happens if the VIN is harmed on purpose?

There are numerous circumstances that can result in VIN damage, but failing to have one will have unpleasant repercussions because it is illegal to intentionally harm a VIN in order to avoid going to jail or the police. You could receive a fine of up to 80,000 rubles or spend two years in prison. You might be stopped by an instructor on the road.

    Conclusion.

The VIN decoder may help to save your car from theft. But where can you check the car reality? This is why we exist– VIN decoders!
